ABOUT US

Background

The former Hong Kong Polytechnic and Labour Department of Hong Kong Government started to run jointly the Safety Officer Course in 1979. Early in 1982, a group of graduates from the Certificate of Proficiency in Industrial Safety course, jointly with the Industrial Centre, Hong Kong Polytechnic & the Hong Kong Labour Department founded the Hong Kong Industrial Safety Association with a vision to promote the industrial safety in Hong Kong. Since then the association had been inactive for a while and was revitalized in 1985 until today.

 

Objectives

  1. To enhance the awareness of the industrial safety in Hong Kong through organizing and participating various activities.

  2. To upgrade the level and standard of professionalism of its members through organizing various activities.

  3. To uphold the rights of its members.

  4. To provide professional recommendations to Government in regard to the formulation of legislation or amendment of Ordinance concerning industrial safety with an aim to upgrade industrial safety standards in Hong Kong as well as to uphold the rights of its members.
